One of the stages of the long-established endurance hikes called Yellow 70 is the equally challenging 40-kilometer distance. This near-marathon-length endurance hike starts during the day and includes the most beautiful viewpoints of the 70 km route.
The completion of the distance can be a sporting achievement or "just" a serious all-day hike. What is certain is that the kilometers of this hike feature a beautiful alternation of mountains and valleys. Among its stations you will find many natural viewpoints: the Kötők bench, Újlaki Hill, Nagy Hárs Hill, the Sorrento rocks, the side of Huszonnégyökrös Hill, and after the beautiful panorama from Törökugrató come wonderfully beautiful valleys in succession. The Alsó-Jegenye valley, Hűvös valley, Virág valley and Kies valley are all impressive terrains, often because the path leads over steep, narrow ridges or small wooden bridges over streams. It's worth making a small detour to the majestic panoramic view of Zsíros Hill, as well as to the lesser-known viewpoint of Magas-kő if time and energy allow.
During the walk, you will encounter natural values as well as cultural sights, although there is not much time for sightseeing (you must reach Budaörs by 19:00). With good strength and time management, this is a comfortably finishable hike, however the "comfort" is primarily determined by your own physical endurance. Those who have previously hiked only 10-20 km distances are rather advised to start on one of the Yellow endurance hikes' sections (Yellow 20A, 20B, 15, 10).
