Cserkő megállóhely Gyöngyössolymostól északra, a Nagy-patak völgyében található, közel a Szalajkaház felé vezető erdészeti úthoz. A S▲ jelzésen a síneket keresztezve, észak felé indulva érhető el Dezsővár, egy vármaradvány, ahol pihenőhely és tűzrakóhely is van. A Mátra legkisebb várát valószínűleg az Aba nemzetség Solymosi ága építtette az Árpád-korban. Jelzetlen erdei utakon megközelíthető a kicsit távolabb található Eremény-tető is, ahol valaha szintén vár állott – egyes vélemények szerint már az őskorban is. Az bizonyos, hogy ma is találni sáncmaradványokat a hegytetőn, amelyről pompás kilátás nyílik a Nyugati-Mátra és a Felső-Mátra csúcsaira.
