On the trail of history
At the start of the 2nd stage of the trail, you can see the three other mountains of the entire trail, the Ulrichsberg, Veitsberg and Lorenziberg, before setting off on the descent from the Magdalensberg. Passing the Celtic-Roman excavations, the "Ancient City on the Magdalensberg", you walk through the village of Ottmanach, where the world-famous musician Udo Jürgens grew up. Once you reach the valley floor of the Zollfeld, you will come across important historical monuments such as the Prunner Cross, the Herzogstuhl and Maria Saal Cathedral.
