A nagyvázsonyi Viszont-völgyben omladozó fal áll a fák sűrűjében. Az egykori pálos kolostor romja mellett a bővizű Kinizsi-forrást, illetve pihenőhelyet is találunk.

A romok környezetében 2025 októberében régészeti feltárás kezdődött, az ásatás területére bemenni tilos!

A Szent Erzsébet tiszteletére felszentelt, és az ő nevét viselő épületkomplexumból mára csak templomának nyugati fala maradt meg, rajta körablak és ajtó helye tátong. Omlásveszély miatt jelenleg gerendák támasztják alá, megközelíteni tilos.

Az épülettorzót a 19. században élt neves bencés szerzetes és régész, Rómer Flóris fedezte fel, majd a 20. század derekától kezdve több ásatás és feltárás is végbement a környéken, amelyek nyomán ma több épület alapjait is kivehetjük az erdei növényzettel benőtt halmok között. A templomépületben egy rövid hajó és egy egyenes záródású szentély kapott helyet, ehhez északnyugat felől kapcsolódott a kolostor, amit 600 méteres fal vett körül.

A közeli forrás vize és a Bakony sűrű, zárt erdője ideális helyet jelölt ki a nyugalomra vágyó szerzetesek számára. A kolostort a Rátót nemzetségbeli Keszi család alapította a 13. században, első írásos említése 1263-ból származik. Pálos szerzetesek lakták egészen a 15. század végéig, amikor átköltöztek a Kinizsi Pál által alapított vázsonyi kolostorba, helyükre pedig ferences rendi szerzetesek érkeztek. 1552-ben Devecseri Csóron András, a terület birtokosa a török közeledtének hírére felrobbantatta az épületet, nehogy bele tudjanak költözni.

A rom és a Kinzsi-forrás 1959 óta védett terület. Az Országos Kéktúra által is érintett helyszínt pihenőpadokkal és asztalokkal szerelték fel.

Egész évben szabadon látogatható. A romok környezetében 2025 októberében régészeti feltárás kezdődött, az ásatás területére bemenni tilos, de a falmaradványt így is meg lehet nézni pár méterről.

  • A buszmegállótól a Kinizsi utcán nyugat felé indulunk, majd az elágazásnál egyenes irány tartva (a Jókai Mór utcán) belefutunk az Országos Kéktúra K jelzésébe, melyen már irányban vagyunk. Az erdőszéli, felhagyott legelőket követően a K jelzés balra, felkanyarodik a szűk völgybe, melynek oldalában a romot találjuk (3,8 km, 48 m szintemelkedés).
