Csabdi legrégebbi épített emléke a falu központja feletti domboldalban található templomrom. A mai templomrom eredeti, 13-14. századi formáján a rekonstrukciók szerint a közeli zsámbéki templom hatása mutatható ki. Források és értékelhető leletek híján a templom építtetőjéről, egykori lakóiról semmit nem tudni, múltja szinte teljesen ismeretlen.
A templom félköríves szentélyzáródású főhajóval és egyenes záródású mellékhajókkal rendelkező kéttornyú templom volt. Ma mindebből csupán a déli torony maradványa látható. A hajók szélessége és hossza egyaránt 12 méter, a belső szélessége hajónként 2,15 méter, 4,60 méter, 2,15 méter. A falak 75 centiméter vastagok, mészkőből és homokkőből durván rakottak és vakoltak. A torony négyszögletes alaprajzú, az oldalhajó felé nyitva.
A tornyok valószínűleg kősisakosok voltak, a középhajót végig dongaboltozat fedte, a váll alatt ablaksorral, az alsó ablakok kámvája, sőt a boltozat kezdete is látható még. Lehetséges, hogy a templomot már korábban nagy pusztulás érte, és utána a befalazott középhajó maradt csak egy ideig használatban, ez magyarázza a tömör hosszfalakat.
A templom körül védőfal és árok húzódott, ezen belül volt a temető, amit a 18. században is használtak, de még a 19. század legelején is temetkeztek ide. A templom környezetét a település szépen gondozza, időnként rendezvényeknek is helyt ad a kis tér, a templomrom elé színpadot is emeltek.
