A megállóhely Mátrafüred Abasár felé eső részét szolgálja ki. Valószínűleg a közeli erdészeti szakiskola diákjai is egykoron a kisvasúttal utaztak. Innen ágazott ki az 1950-es években a mátrafüredi vonal egyetlen szárnyvonala is: a Pipis-hegyre vezető sínpárt 1951-ben alakították ki, a Szerszám- és Készülékgyár építéséhez kapcsolódóan. A semleges elnevezés valójában egy hadiüzemet takart: a budapesti Fegyver- és Gázkészülék Gyár szerepét kellett volna átvennie, ha a fővárosi komplexumot háborús károk érik.
