A Gyöngyös és Mátrafüred közti erdei vasút felső végállomása Mátrafüred központjában található.
Mátrafüred több mint száz éve népszerű üdülőterületének szívében, a városi parkerdő szomszédságában helyezkedik el az erdei vasút végállomása. A település közeli centrumában boltok, éttermek és szálláshelyek is várják a kirándulókat, míg a hegyek felé indulva hét turistaút vezet a Mátra népszerű úti céljaihoz, többek közt Kékestetőre, a Sás-tó és a Sár-hegy felé. A település belsején átvezető sárga háromszög jelzésen pedig alig 15 perces sétával elérhetjük a környék egyik jelképét, a Kozárdy-kilátót.
Az állomáson fedett esőbeálló és jegypénztár található.

Az állomás a Gyöngyös környéki helyközi autóbuszok Mátrafüred, autóbusz-váróterem nevű megállója mellett található.
Ebben a nagy forgalmú megállóban a távolsági buszjáratok is megállnak.
