Bázakerettye alsó megállóhely két vágányból áll, középen egy peronnal. A megállóhely közelében hatalmas tartályok emlékeztetnek arra egy ipartelepen, hogy a környéken szénhidrogén-kitermelés folyik 1937 óta. Az elsőként olajat adó Budafa-2 olajkút közelében a BT–2 jelű, ma is működő gyűjtőállomás kezelőépületében egy kis olajipari múzeum működik, ahol a szénhidrogén-bányászat zalai történetét bemutató kiállítás, valamint a Buda Ernő-emlékszoba tekinthető meg.
A közeli buszforduló mellett bolt, presszó és dohánybolt is üzemel. Itt halad el a Rockenbauer Pál Dél-dunántúli Kéktúra útvonala is, a legközelebbi pecsételőhely a buszfordulóban lévő presszóban található.
Bázakerettye alsó feltételes megállóhely, azaz a vonatok csak akkor állnak itt meg, ha van le- vagy felszálló utas.

- A helyközi autóbuszjáratokról Bázakerettye, autóbusz-váróterem megállóhelyen leszállva a Petőfi utcán érdemes elindulni a vasúti átjáró irányába, majd a síneket elérve jobbra találjuk a kisvasúti megállót (kb. 100 méter séta).
- A Petőfi utcán a buszfordulótól induló K+ jelzésen érhető el az Olajipari Múzeum, illetve a Budafapusztai Arborétum.
