Folly Arboretum in Badacsonyörs, one of kind around the lake, was established by physician Dr. Gyula Folly from Pécs in the early 20th century. This collection of special cedars and cypresses called "the old arboretum" is the core of the garden today, which has been managed and extended by generations (currently the 4th) of the family.
The arboretum has an area of 5 hectares planted mostly with coniferous trees, of which the Atlas cedars are the most precious ones. Each tree is a clone of the original tokens planted in 1905. What's more, the cedar collection in the Arboretum of Agostyán near Tata grew from seeds from here. The garden has up to 400 species of pine trees as well as 200 species of deciduous trees and shrubs.
A playground, a resting spot, a restaurant and a conifer-shaped lookout tower with a great view all contribute to make your visit memorable. Besides the arboretum the family's winery has also gained reputation over the years.

- Get off the coach at "Badacsonyörs, Camping".
- Get off the train in Badacsonyörs.
Getting there
- From the bus stop take Kemping Street just opposite the level crossing but take the shortcut straight ahead to Mandulás Street upper on the hill. Continue along Arborétum Street until you reach Kápolnavölgyi Street. Turn right and walk until you reach the entrance (900 m).
- At the train stop, cross Füredi Road (Road 71) and continue ahead along Szőlő Strett. Turn right at the chapel and keep to Szőlő Street (later Mandulás Street). Past 1 km turn left onto Arborétum Street. At the end turn right to get to the entrance (1.7 km).
Parking
- Free of charge parking in front of the arboretum. Due to narrow streets it is adviseable to approach along Kápolnavölgyi Streeet turning off Road 71.
