The route leads from the Rheinberghalle (dining facility) past the sports field towards Oberwald,
along the Marian worship site “Bildstöckel”, to the fishing waters. In the gravel pits formed by gravel extraction, we find a variety of native fish such as zander, eel, pike, carp, catfish, to name just a few.
Typical floodplain trees such as beech, poplar, lime, alder, oak will accompany you on your circular hiking route. Their tree crowns are the habitat of woodpeckers, buzzards, falcons, and many songbirds. Continue to follow the blue markings.
Through a harmonious landscape, the path winds past orchards and grain fields. Depending on your mood, this path can be walked in large or small circular routes.
UFFBASSE! - Campaign for considerate coexistence in nature
- Fire & smoking - lighting fires, smoking, and grilling are strictly prohibited in the forest and must be strictly avoided! Fires and thus great damage to nature and wildlife can only be prevented this way.
- Be considerate - Always behave thoughtfully, kindly, and considerately towards everyone you meet on the way
- Nature conservation - Stay on marked paths and avoid unnecessary noise when you are in nature. Leave the forest at the latest at dusk to avoid disturbing the rhythm of nocturnal animals.
- Picnic & waste - Remember to bring a trash bag for the trip and take your waste back home. Use only furnished rest areas for breaks and picnics.
- Leash dogs - Please keep your dog on a leash at all times. Other visitors and animals will thank you.

Safety instructions
Despite the good marking of the hiking trails, we recommend always carrying a suitable hiking map for safety reasons.
Especially in autumn, be aware that fallen leaves on the ground can conceal unevenness, roots, stones, or holes in the path. After storms, trees can still fall or branches drop afterwards. Especially in adverse weather conditions, natural paths may have muddy and slippery sections. You must expect such trail impairments when hiking. Not all rocks or ravines are secured with ropes or railings. Surefootedness is sometimes required. If you believe that certain sections of the trail are not passable for you, you should bypass them.
