Time travel in the heart of Lockenhaus: The Baroque Parish Church
With its impressive history and unique architecture, the Parish Church of Lockenhaus is a true gem of Burgenland. Commissioned in 1656 by the prominent builder Franz Nádasdy and constructed by the Italian master architect Pietro Orsolini, it impressively combines Renaissance and Baroque styles. The high altar with the grace image "The Mother of Good Counsel", the Marian altar with the "Magna Mater Hungariae", and the mysterious "Black Madonna" in the crypt narrate a tale of deep piety and a tumultuous past.
A special highlight is the largest organ in Burgenland, which regularly comes to life during concerts featuring renowned artists – an experience that attracts visitors from all over the world every year.
