The structure was restored in the 1950s together with its gate tower and the adjacent Buzogány Tower (Buzogánytorony), reintegrating it into the recognizable skyline of Buda. During the restoration, a covered defensive corridor was reconstructed, offering insight into how soldiers once moved within the fortifications under protection.
Originally, access from the outside was possible only via a drawbridge — a reminder that castles were not simply grand residences but carefully engineered survival systems. Today, the Rondella stands as a visible fragment of the military logic that shaped Castle Hill across centuries of siege and reconstruction.
