A Szentélyerdőt Kisgyőrről a Csókás-völgy felé gyalogolva lehet útba ejteni. Az apró kőbányáig különféle állapotú erdőkön keresztül vezető, kanyargós ösvényen lehet eljutni, majd a bányafal tetejére egy kis ösvényen felkaptatni. A mészkővidékek melegkedvelő tölgyese gazdagon összetett élőhely: erdők és gyepek mozaikja. Felnyíló lombsátra alatt szerte apró tisztásokra bukkanunk, ahol pedig sekélyebb a talaj, ott erdőszegélyekkel keretezett, fákkal, bokrokkal díszített sziklagyepeknek adják át a helyüket. (A Bükkben gyakori helynév, a szláv eredetű galya szó jelentése is fátlan hegyi legelő.) A gyepeket tavasszal vadvirágok pazar sokfélesége borítja; nyáron átható kakukkfűillat terjeng.

- A megállótól a Z jelzést kövessük lefelé indulva, majd az első sarkon forduljunk balra a S jelzésre. A falu határa után balunkon kőfejtőt találunk, ennek peremén vezet fel a jelzetlen ösvény a Szentélyerdőbe (2,1 km, 80 m szintemelkedés).
