A Kis-Pogány-hegy és a Nagy-Pogány-hegy nyergében fekvő, csendes Pogány-rétet a Börzsöny egy „eldugottabb” pontján találjuk.
A rétet a Bánya-patak völgyét és a Kereszt-völgyi-patakot összekötő, a nyeregponton „átbukó” K+ jelzés keresi fel. A völgyekben haladó túraútvonalakkal ellentétben az ezek között vezető ösvény viszonylag ritkán járt, így általában a Pogány-rét is békés hangulatú. A másfél hektáros rét felső pontjáról a Magyar-hegyre nyílik szép kilátás, erdőbe hajló alsó szegélyét viszont a domboldal takarja előlünk. A dús füvű, vadvirágos réten érdemes letérni a jelzésről, és a pázsiton átvágva térni vissza rá.

Public transport
- A Pogány-réthez legközelebb a transzbörzsönyi kisvasút Kisirtáspuszta vasútállomását találjuk, a szerelvények viszont nem közlekednek minden nap, tájékozódjunk előzetesen a menetrendekről.
- Ha „hagyományos” tömegközlekedési eszközzel érkeznénk, Nagybörzsöny, községháza buszmegállóban szálljunk le.

- Kisirtáspusztáról a S+, S◼, S● jelzések követésével jutunk el a Fagyos-kútig, ahonnan a K●, majd K+ jelzéseken érkezünk meg a Pogány-rétre (3,7 km, 245 m szintemelkedés).
- A Nagybörzsöny, községháza buszmegállóból a K jelzésen indulunk el, majd a Katalin-forrás után jobbra kiágazó K+ jelzésen jutunk ki a rétre (5,4 km, 291 m szintemelkedés).

- Nagybörzsöny főterén, a Hunyadi téren ingyenes parkoló van kialakítva.
