A szláv eredetű Železna Baba név jelentése vasorrú bába. A bejáratban állva rálátunk az egykori kőfejtő udvarára, mely a letermelés következtében közel 15-20 métert bontott le a barlang bejárati részéből. A barlang régészeti szempontból is jelentős; Sóskút környékén őskori, római kori emlékek egyaránt megtalálhatók, a Kálvária-hegy tetején elfeledett erősség nyomait is beazonosították. A barlangban folyó kutatások során nagy mennyiségű, főként cserépedény-töredékből álló leletanyag került elő.
A Kálvária-hegy más jellegzetes sziklaformákat is tartogat felfedezőinek. A barlangtól néhány lépésre, egy szűk ösvényen bevehetjük magunkat a hegy keleti, meredek oldalába, ahol egy felhagyott kőfejtő látványos formáit csodálhatjuk meg közelről. Az országút felől kiválóan látszó hatalmas, szabályos sziklavájat beindítja az ember fantáziáját: úgy tartaj a legenda, hogy a bányászat során keletkezett üregekről emelték ki a Lánchíd oroszlánjainak kőtömbjeit.

Directions
- A Sóskút, Iskola buszmegállótól a Fő utcán kelet felé indulunk, majd a Kőszikla utcánál rácsatlakozunk a P jelzésre. A jelzést követve a stációk mentén érünk fel a Kálvária-hegyre, majd továbbhaladva a hegy északi oldalában, jobb kéz felé jelzettlen ösvényre térünk. Pár lépést követően elérjük a barlangot (1 km, 45 m szintemelkedés).
- A Biai út mellett található Torony szobortól is felmehetünk a barlanghoz, illetve a hegytetőre.
Innen egyből rácsatlakozhatunk a Kálvária-hegyre vezető P jelzésű turistaútra.
- Leparkolhatunk közvetlenül a Kálvária-hegy kőfejtője alá is, a Torony szobornál, a Biai út mellett.
