A déli part majdnem egyetlen mélyvizű strandja a fonyódi Bélatelepen található. A strandon van büfé, öltöző, játszótér, kölcsönző, csónakkikötő és több sportpálya is. A vizesblokk és az öltöző a mozgáskorlátozottaknak is könnyen elérhető.
A déli parton köztudottan lassan mélyül a Balaton, ezért igen ritka az olyan, mély vizű strand, mint amilyen a fonyódi Bélatelepen található. Alig 10 métert kell sétálni, és máris úszásra alkalmas vizet találunk - ez délen ritkaság. Természetesen vannak apályosabb részei is a strandnak, így a gyereknek is van lehetőségük a pancsolásra.
Az összesen egyhektárnyi területen fekvő strand több, jól elkülöníthető részből áll, külön az úszóknak, külön a pancsolóknak. A strandon található csónakkikötő, öltöző, büfé, kölcsönző, értékmegőrző, lábtenisz- és kosárlabdapálya, valamint játszótér is. Több vizesblokk és öltözőfülke is van, amit a mozgáskorlátozott nyaralók is igénybe vehetnek.
