The complex, a symbol of the past, present, and future of humanity and its achievements, consists of eight individual stations arranged in a circular pattern around a central, towering winged figure: Gate of Life, Gate of Death, Adam and Eve, Deposition of Christ, Mass of People, Family in the Shelter, Industrial Development, Future.
The sculptor, who describes the sculpture complex as possibly his most important work, created the individual stations in a yearly rhythm and unveiled the winged figure on New Year's Eve 1999.
