A warm welcome to the Brandenburger Haus!
The Brandenburger Haus is perched high above the glacial landscape of the Ötztal Alps, above the dividing line between the Gepatsch and Kesselwand glaciers. Anyone who has made it this far—access is only possible via glaciers with numerous crevasses, so a rope team is highly recommended—will be rewarded with a magnificent view of some of the highest mountains in the Eastern Alps.
Although the hut itself is located just a few meters below a summit (the Dahmannspitze), it offers several other mountain destinations, including the Hintereisspitzen, Fluchtkogel, and Weißseespitze.
Given its location, the lodge’s amenities are very basic; for example, it has no showers—we’re just glad to have water at all during the season—but it does have a heated dining room, which guests appreciate when the weather is bad.
