The Hintereisspitzen border the Gepatschferner in the south-east. Even though the firn flanks are getting smaller and smaller and more (brittle) rock is emerging, crossing all three Hintereisspitzen is still a worthwhile day's endeavour. You should definitely pay a visit to the highest of the three peaks (Hintere Hintereisspitze).

Descend over the hut rocks and then first in a southerly, then south-westerly direction (to avoid a crevasse zone) to the firn flank of the mountain. The ascent over the flank can be done either directly or in hairpin bends along the rocky north-east ridge. Finally via the ridge (be careful of cornices) to the nearby summit.
