Hiking in Weisel

The circular route takes us into the northeastern district of Bornich. Great views over the Rhine Valley to the Hunsrück accompany us on our exploration through gentle meadow valleys and along romantic streams.

The "Loreley Trails" circular hiking trails are located in the UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley and are being implemented as part of a LEADER funding project. The trails will be signposted in the years 2026-2027.

The route leads through the idyllic Tiefenbach Valley up to the Schönauer Höhe near Weisel, surrounded by rolling uplands. Then it continues through the Kauben city forest and over the charming Rheingau Mountains, finally offering a wonderful view of Sauerburg.

The hiking trails of the URBACH-RUNDEN run through the districts of the municipalities of Weisel, Bornich, and Dörscheid and offer wonderful panoramic views of the landscapes of Taunus and Hunsrück. There are also beautiful views into the Rhine Valley. The impressive valley of the Urbach provides the backdrop for these routes. The Urbach has its source on the edge of the municipal area of Weisel and flows into the Rhine between Kaub and St. Goarshausen.
