Slate Round, Variant A

We start on Jahnstraße heading towards Altpforter Straße and cross it at the height of the Blücher monument. Behind the Blücher monument, a path leads us down to a farm road. After about 300 m, we take a short detour to the Roman burial mound.

We follow the signage and at the height have a beautiful panoramic view over the Hunsrück. After crossing the asphalt road, we keep slightly left on the short route variant A.

We follow the signage but stay above the Tiefenbach valley and the Glückauf quarry.

Shortly before Weisel, we meet again the middle route variant B and follow the signage through the new residential area "Auf dem Dewald" up to Birkenweg and further to the Blücher monument. Here we cross the Altpforter Straße again and walk back to the starting point of the tour.

Postscript February 2023:

Unfortunately, we had to find that on almost all paths the signage was "manipulated." Signs were torn down or smeared, posts pulled out and stolen, or reinstalled twisted.

At first, we still tried to replace the missing signs, but now there is a lack of new signs and capacity to constantly walk the trails.

We therefore strongly recommend using navigation for the hike on these routes and to look at the map.

One can only speculate here about the motives for so much vandalism.
