I must admit that the route was interesting in several aspects: passing through chestnut groves, apple orchards, and churches—and finally reaching the Sabiona Monastery—was truly rewarding. Catching sight of the little church of Latzfons in the distance near Velturno was another highlight. With fountains along the way, refreshment stops, and places to leave a prayer, it was a wonderful experience. A great route to do at this time of year.

I actually did the walk starting from Sarentino and stopping at Avena. The route offers an interesting look at the local farmsteads, featuring information panels that detail their history (including the Dickel Hansel). The suspension bridge is an engineering marvel—an aqueduct that also serves as a suspension bridge. In my opinion, it’s well worth a visit—one of those "treasures close to home." I’m not giving it 5 stars because a large part of the route is on paved roads, though that is actually a plus for anyone visiting the bridge with children.
