Relax in the spas of Upper Bavaria
You can spend a relaxing day in the numerous thermal spas. Therme Erding, north-east of Munich, is the largest thermal spa in the world with a huge range of 28 slides, a wave pool, exotic thermal spa, VitalOase and VitalTherme & Saunas.
Things are a little more relaxed at the Watzmann Therme Berchtesgaden. After a beautiful winter walk around Watzmann, Königssee and Co. you can end the day here in a relaxed atmosphere. Highlights of the spa include the panorama sauna with an unobstructed view of the surrounding mountains and the tunnel sauna, which is modelled on the nearby salt mine.
Art and culture for all interests
Upper Bavaria also has a lot in store for those interested in culture: a variety of museums, exhibitions and theatres are real alternatives if you are not in the mood for outdoor activities. Munich, Upper Bavaria's largest city, is home to two of the largest and most interesting museums in Germany: the Deutsches Museum and the BMW Museum. In Rosenheim, too, interesting exhibitions take place in the Lokschuppen throughout the year.
