Hiking on the edge of the Alps
The gently shaped peaks of the Chiemgau Alps also offer great tours for beginners - there are almost no real alpine difficulties to overcome on any of the many peaks. Instead, panoramic tours with many inviting mountain huts await you, where you can stop for a bite to eat with a view of the Bavarian lowlands, Lake Chiemsee or the main Alpine ridge.
Popular starting points in the Chiemgau Alps are Bad Reichenhall, Inzell, Ruhpolding and Reit im Winkl, where you will also find a large number of accommodation options and restaurants. The striking Kampenwand, the Hochgern and the Hochstaufen are among the best-known panoramic peaks. But you are also guaranteed to find the right tour to suit your taste in the Chiemgau Alps.
Climbing on the rock massifs
The Kampenwand is not only a popular destination for hikers. Climbers are also magically attracted to the rocky peaks. To the south of the Kampenwand in the Achental valley and to the east around Bad Reichenhall, there are many sport climbing routes of all levels of difficulty.
Panoramic and popular alpine climbing tour across the entire Kampenwand from west to east
Long-distance hiking to Austria and over the most beautiful Chiemgau peaks
You hike from Bad Endorf to Kufstein in Austria on the multi-day tour of the "Grenzenlos Wanderweg" trail. The route takes you past Lake Chiemsee and the Prien river. The altitude difference is kept to a minimum, meaning that the six stages are easy to master even for beginners.
The "Over the Chiemgau" hut trek is much more challenging. This crossing of the Chiemgau Alps from west to east gives you an impression of the beauty of the region. Many of the huts where you spend the night are located directly on the peaks - fantastic sunrises and sunsets are guaranteed!

Road and gravel biking on banks, valleys and hills
In the Chiemgau Alps, you have the whole range of road and gravel bike tours at your disposal: Flat routes in the northern part around the shores of Lake Chiemsee, hilly routes in the central part of the region and tours with steep climbs and many meters of altitude in the south.
The easier tours include, for example, the Chiemsee, Amerang and Maria Eck road bike tours, each with significantly less than 500 meters in altitude. The Berchtesgadener Seen Gravel is much more challenging: the tour takes you past Bad Reichenhall and the three lakes Königssee, Hintersee and Taubensee.
The ultimate challenge are the two variants of the Wendelstein Tour: the 165 km route and the 115 km route take you through large parts of the Chiemgau Alps and give you an insight into the diversity and beauty of the region.
