Selected alternatives for you
Fast, easy, short, yet varied loop. It is excellent for family running with older children as a supplement to a Wildlife Park visit, but also suitable for fitting in a quick run alongside a Wildlife Park program with small children.

    Distribution of effort

In the second quarter of the route, there is a section 800 meters long with a steady ascent of 60 meters, which is the relatively greatest challenge of the entire loop.

    Recommended period

Can be completed at any time of day. Mostly a shaded forest run, pleasant even in summer heat.

Our trail running section is supported by Dockyard. The route is recommended by the legendary Csaba Németh, Hungary's most successful active trail runner.

    Safety information

    • Be extra careful on the fence ladder in wet, rainy weather because the wooden steps are slippery, and the soles of your running shoes will definitely be muddy.

    Roadbook

    Itinerary

    • From the parking lot, head toward the main entrance of the Wildlife Park, before which you can turn right onto the P+ trail, where you run along the fence ladder and climb over it.
    • On the other side of the fence, continue running on the S+ trail, then turn right onto the S↺ trail and run about one kilometer to the next junction.
    • Then turn left onto the Z+ trail, running for one and a half kilometers.
    • At the S+ trail, turn left and follow it back to the fence ladder.
    • After the ladder, run back to the parking lot on the P+ trail.

    Detailed description of the run

From the parking lot, start next to the Wildlife Park office building towards the main entrance and turn right before that onto the P+ trail, running parallel to the fence to the fence ladder. Climb over it.

On the other side of the fence, run along the slightly ascending forest path marked S+, then upon reaching the S↺ trail, turn right and follow it about one kilometer to the next junction.

At the Z+ trail, turn left and continue running. The path ascends straight, steadily, and more steeply; this is the hardest section of the running loop, but upon reaching the top, a nice view to the right is a reward.

Immediately after, turn sharply left and start descending along the fence on the S+ trail. The first section is still very rocky, then further down continue running on a comfortable forest path again. Having left the fence but before crossing the wide clearing, a path opens to the right, which if you feel like it, leads 200 meters to a covered lookout, otherwise continue running to the familiar fence ladder.

After the ladder, turn right onto the P+ trail again and passing by the main entrance of the Wildlife Park, return to the parking lot.
