Energy Distribution
The run is long, starting with a steady incline, and out of the total 150 meters of elevation gain, 100 meters can be managed within the first one and a half kilometers. The remaining 50 meters occur just before the last, i.e., the 7th kilometer, so it's worth conserving some energy for this part.
Recommended Period
Can be completed at any time of the day. The route is mostly shady, with the two major climbs in the forest, making it a comfortable run even in hotter summer weather.
Our trail running section is supported by Dockyard. The route is recommended by the legendary Csaba Németh, Hungary's most successful active trail runner.
Author’s recommendation
- The route is shady except for a few hundred meters, making it a good choice even in hot summer weather.
- At the Fenyőgyöngye bus stop, there is a blue push pump, which can be useful both at the start and the finish. However, keep in mind that it only operates from late spring to autumn.
- After departure, the path first runs on the right side of the asphalt road, then crosses it and shifts to the left side where we run until the turn to the Z+ marking. This is only 300 meters long but very rocky. If your ankles are sensitive, you can stay on the asphalt until the junction.

Itinerary
- From Fenyőgyöngye, start uphill parallel to the asphalt road on the K marking, from which we switch to the Z+ marking.
- From Z+, join the Z marking (Gückler Károly road) and continue on it all the way to Virágos-nyereg.
- From Virágos-nyereg, continue on the S marking, then switch to the Gyöngyök útja auxiliary marking, which leads to Határ-nyereg.
- At Határ-nyereg, continue on the Z↺ marking, then after three short sections—a Z section, an unmarked connector, and a K section—you arrive back at Fenyőgyöngye.
Detailed description of the run
From Fenyőgyöngye, we immediately start and continue to ascend on the K marking. Up to Virágos-nyereg, we run on normal dirt road with occasional gravel sections. After departure, we first run 1.2 km on the right, then left side of the asphalt road, then crossing back on the asphalt, we turn right onto the Z+ marking. We ascend a little more from here, and then the main part of the run continues on flat terrain.
We run one and a half kilometers on Z+ then turn onto Z, Gückler Károly road, covering another 2 km to Virágos-nyereg. Along the run, panoramic viewpoints opening to Óbuda, the Danube, and the northern bridges accompany our path on the right side.
Virágos-nyereg is also the turnaround point of the run. From here, we continue sharply back on S marking, partly on a single-track path, partly on normal dirt road, on less comfortable terrain than before, until we deviate right from S to the Gyöngyök útja auxiliary marking (yellow dots surrounding), which we follow to Határ-nyereg.
At Határ-nyereg, turn left onto the Z↺ marking, Kecskehegyi road, and continue ascending on normal dirt road, gaining 50 meters over 600 meters distance, with a very rocky section at the steepest part. Shortly after the road begins to descend, Z↺ turns right while we continue straight on an unmarked path, which joins the Z marking, which we follow left for about 100 meters to a picnic area and the forester's lodge. Here we turn right onto another unmarked path for about 200 meters and then reach the K marking, which brings us back to Fenyőgyöngye.
