Kallbrunnalm: Jausenstation und Alm im Salzburger Land

Jausenstationen sind einfache Gaststätten in Ausflugsgebieten, vor allem auf den Almen im Grenzgebiet zwischen Bayern und Österreich. Als Jause bezeichnen unsere österreichischen Nachbarn eine Brotzeit. Dementsprechend gibt es auf einer Jausenstation Brotzeiten, zum Beispiel die klassische "Brettl-Jaus`n" oder einfache traditionelle Gerichte. Die Jausenstation Kallbrunnalm liegt auf dem Gebiet der Gemeinde Weißbach bei Lofer im Salzburger Land. Allerdings ist die Kallbrunnalm historisch bedingt Teil des Stiftes Berchtesgaden und ist auch heute noch eine bayerische Enklave auf Österreichischem Grund.



Kallbrunn: Die größte Alm in den Berchtesgadener Alpen

Insgesamt sind den Sommer über etwa 350 Stück Vieh auf der Kallbrunn, damit ist sie nicht nur nach Fläche (2,5 km²) sondern auch nach Anzahl des Viehs die mit Abstand größte unter den Berchtesgadener Almen und eine der größten Almen überhaupt. Die Kallbrunnalm erstreckt sich in einer Höhenlage von 1200 bis 1650 Metern am Südosthang des Hochkranzes, umrahmt von den mächtigen Gebirgsstöcken Hocheis, den westlichen Ausläufern des Steinernen Meeres un den Leoganger Steinbergen. Urkundlich erstmals erwähnt wurde die Alm bereits 1386. Derzeit treiben insgesamt 30 Bauern ihr Vieh den Sommer über auf die Kallbrunnalm. 16 von Ihnen stammen aus dem Berchtesgadener Land, der größte Teil von ihnen aus dem Bergsteigerdorf Ramsau.

Der Kallbrunner Almkäse

Die Kallbrunner Almbauern betreiben eine eigene Käserei auf der Alm. In einem eigens zu diesem Zweck errichtetem Kaser wird der Kallbrunner Almkäse aus der Milch der Almkühe hergestellt und gelagert. Anfang August jeden Jahres ist der Käse dann reif und kann auf der Alm und in ausgewählten Läden im Tal, unter anderem in den Geschäften der Enzianbrennerei Grassl gekauft werden. Die kräuterreichen Wiesen und die Verarbeitung der Rohmilch auf der Alm sorgen für den ganz besonderen Geschmack des Kallbrunner Almkäses. Der Kallbrunner Almkäse ist in mehreren Sorten erhältlich, als Almkäse pur oder mit verschiedenen Kräutern, als Seehornkäse, als Hochkranzkäse sowie als würziger, gereifter Bergkäse.



Der Dießbachstausee

Unweit der Kallbrunnalm befindet sich in einem Nebental der Dießbachstausee. Dieser entstand 1961 durch die Aufstauung des Dießbaches. Die ursprünglich an dieser Stelle gelegne Dießbachalm wurde überschwemmt. Vom Dießbachstausee führt ein bei Bergsteigern beliebter Aufstieg zum Ingolstädter Haus im Steinernen Meer.



Zustiege

Die Kallbrunnalm ist ein beliebtes Wanderziel, allerdings erfordert eine Wanderung zur Alm etwas an Kondition. Die beiden bekanntesten Wege zur Kallbrunnalm sind:

Von Ramsau Hintersee: Mit dem Almerlebnisbus bis zur Haltestelle Kallbrunnalm. Von der Bushaltestelle muss man noch etwa 2,5 Stunden zu Fuß gehen, um die Alm zu erreichen Von Weißbach bei Lofer (AUT): Der kürzeste Weg auf die Kallbrunnalm führt vom österreichischen Pürzlbach in etwa 1,5 Stunden auf die Alm. Allerdings erfordert die Anfahrt nach Weißbach bei Lofer einiges an Zeit.

 
Beliebt ist die Kallbrunnalm auch bei Mountainbikern: Die Berchtesgadener Mountainbike-Tour 4: Kallbrunnalm führt von Ramsau Hintersee durch das Klausbachtal über den Hirschbichl-Pass zur Kallbrunnalm und ist eine der klassischen Mountainbike-Touren in den Berchtesgadener Alpen.
