From Villach, the route goes through the Gegendtal to Arriach, the geographical center of Carinthia. At Feldkirchen, turn towards Gurktal, leave the B 93 after a few meters to reach Gurk via Zamelsberg and Weitensfeld. The Gurk Cathedral is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Carinthia. The route then continues to St. Veit. At Launsdorf, you pass by Hochosterwitz Castle. In Mittertrixen, the route turns left via Haimburg to Diex (1159 m), the place with the most hours of sunshine in Austria. Here you are at the transition from the Noric region to the holiday region Klopeiner See – South Carinthia. Now you continue along the Höhenstraße towards Brückl. To the north through the Görtschitz valley and at Mösel, turn left towards Althofen. A tip for a hearty lunch is the Hirter Braukeller, which is located just before Friesach directly on the federal highway. After lunch, go briefly back and turn at Böckstein Castle into the Gurktal. In Straßburg, you then leave the Gurktal to the right into the Metnitz valley. The Flattnitz (1400 m) on the plateau of the Gurktal Alps is considered the transition from the Carinthian Gurktal to the Styrian Mur valley. At Stadl/Mur, drive 6 km upstream to Predlitz and from there, you reach the Turracher Höhe (1783 m) again via a partly very steep ascent and back to Carinthia. Via Bad Kleinkirchheim (with the St. Kathrein and Römerbad spas) and Radenthein, it goes back through the Gegendtal to the starting point.
