Galerie im ehemaligen Zeughaus

In der Nordecke der Stadtbefestigung von St. Veit befindet sich ein als „Herzogsburg“ bezeichneter Bau. Die ältesten Teile stammen aus dem 13. Jahrhundert und wurden in historischen Quellen als „Burg“ beschrieben. Im Laufe der Jahrhunderte erhöhte man den Eckturm auf fünf Geschosse und das ehemalige Arsenal wurde zum landesfürstlichen Zeughaus erweitert. Im 16. Jahrhundert kamen die zwei Trakte im Südwesten und Nordwesten dazu. Dieser repräsentative Hakenbau mit zweigeschossigen Arkaden diente als Verwaltungs- und Wohnsitz für die herzoglichen Beamten. Das Obergeschoss wurde durch eine Freitreppe betreten, die Arkaden weisen ein Sterngratgewölbe auf. Im Erdgeschoss befanden sich Wirtschafts- und Lagerräume.
