Circular hike No. 12 in Wolfstein.
Easy hike from the DJH Wolfstein with gentle climbs, mostly forest paths.

Start is at the Youth Hostel in Wolfstein.
Without significant climbs, you reach a beautiful landscape pond above the Youth Hostel - the Poggrechweiher.
Shelters and benches invite you to rest.
Author’s recommendation
A detour to the Selberg Hut is definitely worthwhile.
Wolfstein with its small museums and the limestone mine should also be planned.

However, there are situations where hiking trails are closed and we were not informed.
Any hiker who walks through closed areas (barrier tape, "Caution Hunting" etc.), even on weekends, acts grossly negligently and is responsible for their own actions!
On natural paths, muddy and slippery sections can occur in adverse weather conditions.
Leaves, unevenness, roots, stones, and holes in the path are thus components of a natural forest path.
We recommend suitable footwear.
Tips and suggestions
Ideal hike for walks that prefer little elevation, or for families where the path is the goal. Beautiful views. Child-friendly, also with strollers.

Youth Hostel Wolfstein - uphill to the Poggrechweiler and CVJM Hut - sharp left at the fork near the CVJM Hut - forest path uphill on the right to fork - left to the next fork - sharp left downhill on the road to "Au" - downhill to the junction - left, first gravel road then asphalt road - to the junction - left uphill to the Youth Hostel Wolfstein
Detailed description
From the Youth Hostel Wolfstein, head southwest uphill to the Poggrechweiher and the CVJM Hut. Sharp left turn at the hut.
The path now leads uphill to the right to a fork. We now turn left again and hike to the next junction. Sharp left again, we reach the road "Zur Au".
First downhill to the junction, left onto the gravel road.
The path now changes to an asphalt road. At the next junction, turn left uphill again to the starting point at the Youth Hostel.
