The trip begins at the Telč signpost – square, from where we follow the green trail towards Štamberk – ruins 7.5 km. At the end of the avenue, at the V Lipkách signpost (537 m), the green trail turns left and we mainly ascend through the forest and a hill with a view of Telč 1.5 km to Hostětice. From here, the green trail leads us to the right and we head towards the village of Lhotka, from which we continue along the green trail to the ruins of Štamberk Castle. Then we continue on the blue trail around the granite quarry towards the Great Stump Pond – gamekeeper's lodge 3.5 km. We descend a forest path which later joins a forest road by a small stream. From the Great Stump Pond – gamekeeper's lodge signpost, we follow the red trail towards Telč – square 9 km. The Great Stump Pond was established in 1565 for fish farming and as a water source for Telč. Its name derives from tree stumps left in the water. The pond is surrounded by a nature reserve with a typical example of swampy forest communities of the higher parts of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands, reminiscent in character of the mountain taiga. Now we descend by road through the village of Řásná, after which about 1 km we turn right and walk through the forest to another village, Vanov. From there we return to the lime tree avenue and continue to Telč across the fields past the chapel of St. Charles, from where we descend again near Luh by Telč.
