TransDolomites
The valleys of the Avisio, although distinct in morphology and landscape — from the terraces of Val di Cembra to the forests of Val di Fiemme up to the majestic Dolomite peaks of Val di Fassa — are united by the course of the Avisio stream, which crosses them from the Marmolada to Lavis.
The route offers an on-foot experience among villages, natural environments, and historical memories, retracing the path of the Lavis-Moena Tramway, designed in 1905 but never realized because instead the Ora-Predazzo railway was built, active from 1918 to 1963.
Walking along this itinerary means savoring extraordinary landscapes and reflecting on a potential new sustainable railway connection between territories, today more than ever in need of shared visions.
