The main wine centre in the Cembra Valley where you can enjoy tastings and strolls through the vineyards
The town of Cembra is the largest wine centre in the Cembra Valley: the quality of its wines, the wealth of open cellars that offer guided tours to the public, the variety of local cuisine are a security for visitors.
The capital of the valley, Cembra is located at 667 meters above sea level, on the right bank of the Avisio stream. The village, spread over a vast glacial terrace in a position sheltered by Mount Cembra (1250 m), overlooks a wide plain called the "Campagna Rasa".
In the characteristic terraced fields that descend towards the Avisio, the undisputed protagonist is the vine, which produces the fine wines typical of this valley such as Nosiola, Cabernet, Pinot Noir, and first of all the Müller Thurgau, the undisputed prince of the annual International Review.
The Gothic church of S. Pietro, located in the historic centre of the village, is one of the main art monuments of the valley; the church of S. Maria Assunta and Palazzo Barbi with the hall of the coats of arms are also worth mentioning. A few kilometres away, standing on Dossone di Cembra, is Lake Santo, a destination for bathers and walkers.
