A wine country, a must-see in the exploration of the Cembra Valley for a visit to the Chiesetta di S. Leonardo and for trekking in the woods.
Lysignago, extends over a morainic terrace 582 meters high, protected to the north by Mount Vason and enclosed between the torrential engravings of the Rio Ischiele to the south and the Rio Scorzai to the north.
Upstream of the town there are vast broad-leaved forests, downstream the terraced fields that are still cultivated with vines today, as in the past.
From the village you can take interesting excursions and walks. A pleasant route from the town to the Rifugio della Maderlina.
Among the significant buildings we point out the church of S. Leonardo which according to tradition stands on the remains of the Castle of Lisignago, destroyed in the rage of the people, and which hides a treasure under the floor. The church, which has been restored several times, has a beautiful Gothic portal and a small bell tower that houses one of the oldest bells in the entire valley. Inside, there is an interesting cycle of frescoes from the second half of the 1400s.
