After the Bechtold Center, we head towards the Pagans, reaching Velem after the famous wine cellar row in Cák. The ascent to the Hörmann Spring (also passing the St. Vid Chapel) is challenging but a truly impressive and wonderful route! After a refreshment, the Kendig Ridge and the panorama in both directions dazzle.
After the Red Cross, the Old House Lookout provides another experience. Passing the Treasure Rest and Szálasi Bunker, the beauty of King’s Valley awaits. One last panorama? Yes! At the Suleiman Bastion, we can glance at the town before reaching the finish.

Author’s recommendation
- Considerable elevation difference and a single serious climb: recommended distance for less experienced or even beginner adult hikers, and experienced young people!
- In Cák, after the wine cellar row, it is worth detouring about 15-20 meters to the Hordómosó Spring (signposted): it has tasty, fresh water.
- In Velem it is definitely worth taking the yellow Alpannonia trail going out of the village: this is the Nutshy promenade, where the Vasa well and the Love Island viewpoint are also located. Additionally, we can walk on a forest path instead of asphalt.
- After the St. Vid Chapel, a short detour a few meters to the right will bring you to the National Blue Trail memorial site: the original blue trail (behind the Iron Curtain) started here.
