Climb the Weinsteig heading west out of the village center toward Eußerthal. At the height of the Eußerthal specialist clinic, two green benches await you at a crossroads for a first short rest. Hike a few meters further on the Weinsteig, remember forest road marking 126 which you will find on a large beech trunk to the right of the path. Pass an old power pole and then ignore the Weinsteig turning left. Take the straight forest road 126 up to Schwörstein in about 30 minutes, passing a green-painted water reservoir. Shortly before Schwörstein, the path forks. Please stay on the left forest road no. 126 going uphill.
From Schwörstein to the Böchinger Hut, follow the almost straight circular route no. 1 and the signposts to the Böchinger Hut. No. 1 first takes you onto a forest road, then down a hillside, further onto a path hidden in the coniferous forest and back onto a wide forest road. The last meters lead on a narrow, adventurous path through the high forest down to the Böchinger Hut in the Pottaschtal.

If you have strengthened yourself with Palatinate Saumagen or bratwurst and tried the delicious cakes, you can slowly think about your return journey.
Take the red dot eastwards towards Ramberg. Here as well, the no. 1 accompanies you uphill together with the red dot; please go slowly, with calm breathing, then you will have completed the last climb for today in about 20 minutes.

Follow the red dot to Ramberg on the right. At the shelter at Barebäm, immediately after the intersection, take the narrow connecting path marked with a white dot directly into Ramberg on Schlossbergstrasse. Pay attention to the white dot marking at the path entrance! In the last meters before the village, you meet the "Keschdeweg" marking. Follow this marking through Ramberg and stroll on the Keschdeweg through the meadow slopes of the Dernbach valley back to Dernbach.

    TOUR INFO:

From Dernbach to Schwörstein is just under 6 km with some inclines. Always downhill to the hut from Schwörstein is 3 km. The crossing to Ramberg is completed after just over 3 km and on the Keschdeweg there are 2 short kilometers left to your parking lot in Dernbach.
If you would like to stop at the Ramburg tavern, stay on the path marked with the red dot from Barebäm. It leads you to Ramburg and around the castle hill down to Ramberg. There you will meet the Keschdeweg marking again.
