Ramberg in Trifelsland. Ramberg is a nice village in a small valley in the Biosphere Reserve Pfälzerwald-Nordvogesen. It is surrounded by various castles, the Ramburg, the Meistersel and the Neuscharfeneck. The village is famous for the trade of brush maker. Therefor it has a special museum. Restaurants in the village and forest huts make the culinary part of the holiday in Ramberg.
Of Castles and Broom Makers.
No matter the season: the state-recognized resort town of Ramberg always has its special charm. Whether in spring, when nature awakens and the fruit trees blossom, making the Ramberger Valley shine, or in autumn, when the chestnuts are ripe and the collecting fever spreads, so that they can be enjoyed with a glass of new wine.
The well-marked hiking trails invite for extensive hikes or also for short walks along the panoramic paths around the broom maker village. Refreshment opportunities include the Ramberger Waldhaus Drei Buchen and the restaurant Zum goldenen Lamm in the village (open Wednesday to Sunday).
Besides the Ramburg towering above the village, the ruins of the castles Meistersel and Neuscharfeneck await interested visitors. The castle ruin Meistersel has been extensively renovated and is worth a visit. Forests, brooms, and brushes have shaped the community of Ramberg. The broom maker museum in the village center keeps the history of the village alive. It opens its doors during the season on Sundays and holidays and tells how people used to toil in harsh home work across the more than 20 factories. A souvenir in the form of a broom or brush made in Ramberg is a must. Two factories in the village offer factory sales.
