The charm of the Edelsberg hike lies in being able to admire the Allgäu mountain world from a certain distance. On Edelsberg, there is a panoramic view from the Ammergau Alps to the Nagelfluh chain in the west. Time and again, dreamlike views open up of the pre-Alpine landscape with its numerous lakes. On the route, five mountain huts invite you to stop for a cozy break.

This hike starts in Pfronten Kappel at the parking lot Waldseilgarten/Höllschlucht. Here the ascent begins first to Kappeler Alp and up to the Sportheim Böck on the Alpspitze (mountain station). It is also possible to make a detour to the summit of the Alpspitze. Follow the signs along to Edelsberg and to Fichtelhütte (not managed). Now you have the option to make another detour to Dinser hut. Further down it goes to the Edelsberg hut, from where the descent towards Pfronten Röfleuten takes place. Do not walk all the way down, but pay attention to the signs that lead you left to Hündeleskopf hut and from there back to Pfronten Kappel at the starting point.

For the return journey from Kappeler Alp you still have several options:
    - Return the same way to Pfronten-Kappel
    - Descent via the pilgrimage church Maria Trost to Nesselwang
    - Short ascent to the well-managed Sportheim Böck and from there on foot or with the Alpspitzbahn down to Nesselwang.

    Further options to hike Edelsberg:

    - Ascent to the Edelsberg hut from the Pfronten-Halden fire station (1 hour - well-maintained path). Descent into the Vil valley via a forest path (30 minutes) and back on the plain to Pfronten-Halden (1 hour).

    - To Dinser hut ascent from Edelsberg hut (1.5 hours) - Dinser hut is open during the alpine summer (June to early September).

    - From Pfronten-Kappel (Waldseilgarten parking) via Hündeleskopf hut (45 minutes) to Kappeler Alp (+ 45 minutes). In winter, this path is an ideal toboggan run.
