Large round route forest and wine
The large round route offers you the opportunity to explore the diverse landscape through the Palatinate Forest and the vineyards of the Deutsche Weinstraße.
You start the route at the Museum unter Trifels in Annweiler, initially follow the Queichtal cycle path and then reach the cycle path to Wernersberg via Straße im Flotz. Through the Palatinate Forest, you follow the cycle path to Wernersberg, Völkersweiler and Gossersweiler-Stein. Here you now reach the Klingbachweg, which you follow along the stream, past Silzer See and through Münchweiler to Klingenmünster. There you join the Deutsche Weinstraße cycle path. This leads you to the outskirts of Birkweiler. Along the Queich, through Albersweiler, you go back to Annweiler.
UFFBASSE! - Campaign for considerate interaction in nature
- Always behave attentively, friendly and considerately towards everyone you meet on the way.
- Respect nature, do not destroy plants and always stay on the paths. Try to avoid excessive noise and leave the forest before dusk.
- Remember a trash bag for the way and take your rubbish back home.
- Please always keep your dog on a leash. Other visitors and animals will thank you.
- Observe all path closures for your own safety, even on weekends.
- Park only in designated parking spaces. Leave room for emergency vehicles and agricultural machinery.
- Give priority to agricultural and forestry traffic.

Safety information
Our cycling routes often run on paths shared with others. Therefore, we ask for always considerate and friendly interaction. Winegrowers, farmers and foresters use the farm roads through fields, forests and vineyards for their daily work (also on weekends) and therefore always have right of way. These paths may also be more heavily soiled from work operations and/or weather conditions. Special caution is also required when cycling on (usually quiet and little trafficked) roads in and around Palatinate towns.
