This route, a leisurely route around Bavaria's 5th largest lake and Germany's largest reservoir, is one of a total of thirteen regional cycling routes in the cycling travel region "Schlosspark im Allgäu".
The Forggensee route treats every cyclist to a magnificent mountain panorama of the Ammergebirge and the Tannheim Mountains and even offers a view of the royal castles Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau. Additionally, the diverse nature that the landscape protection area around the lake has to offer is very inviting. The bike path runs along wetlands and raised bogs as well as through meadows. Not to forget are the Illasbergsee, the Hegratsrieder See, and the Bannwaldsee, which contribute to the reputation of Ostallgäu as a lake landscape. For those who want to experience the Forggensee differently, there is also the option to take the Forggensee boat tour - with eight landing stages along the route.
