Die Via Claudia Augusta führte von Rom nach Augsburg. Zwischen Füssen und Schongau begegnet man vielen Hinweisschildern und Repliken von Meilensteinen. Wenn der Forggensee einen niedrigen Wasserstand hat, sieht man beeindruckend den Verlauf des Dammes, auf dem die Via Claudia entlangführte.
