This route is one of a total of thirteen regional cycle routes in the RadReiseRegion 'Schlosspark im Allgäu'.
Rarely has a castle route deserved its name as much as this one. Starting with the High Castle, the landmark of the old town of Füssen, the path leads to the famous royal castles Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein. From there, it continues through Tyrol, past the former fortification ruin Vilsegg. The next record on the route is set by the Falkenstein ruin, Germany's highest castle site. The route then leads to Pfronten, where in the district of Ried there is the option for a detour to the nearby knights' playground. In Zell and Eisenberg, there is a great view of the Eisenberg and Hohenfreyberg castle ruins, whose castle character has been completely preserved to this day. The next highlight of the route is Hopferau Castle, today a **** hotel with a conference center. Finally, the route passes the probably oldest ruin in the Allgäu, the Hopfen am See castle ruin, which shines again in new splendor thanks to professional restoration and thus represents the last cultural highlight of the route.
