The 14 eight-thousanders in the Eastern Ore Mountains offer a varied hiking route over 14 peaks, each of which is more than 8,000 decimetres high. On around 75 kilometers, hikers experience wide views, idyllic forests and typical Erzgebirge landscapes. The tour combines enjoyment of nature with sporting activity and invites you to enjoy a special summit experience in Saxony.

Frank Meutzner, the Saxon mountaineering guru par excellence, had the crazy idea of bringing the eight-thousanders of the Himalayas to the Eastern Ore Mountains. And he did it!
Here, however, the peaks are measured in decimetres and so we have a unique hiking tour in the Altenberg vacation region that connects the Ore Mountains' "eight-thousanders".
From the Geisingberg to the Lugsteine and the Pöbelknochen - the 14 different peaks can be hiked or climbed by mountain bike in a variety of ways. Experienced hikers can do it in two days, but it can also be done in several relaxed stages. And it's worth it. This unique 14 x 8000-metre tour unites the magnificent, unspoilt nature of the Eastern Ore Mountains. Would you also like to claim to have climbed several eight-thousanders? Then go for it!

This is how it works:
- The starter rucksack is available from the Altenberg Tourist Information Office and is filled with various important hiking utensils (plasters, rain poncho, water bottle, information flyer about the tour etc.) and THE most important thing - the stamp card including the voucher for your Gipfelstürmer T-shirt.
- Have you climbed all the peaks and collected your stamps? Then come back to the Altenberg Tourist Information Office and pick up your personal Gipelstürmer T-shirt on presentation of the voucher. You can be sure: Only those who have actually completed the 14 x 8000 meter tour will receive the unique T-shirt!
