A nagymarosi Templom-völgyet a Szent Mihály-hegy keleti oldalán találjuk. Noha maga a völgy is látványos, népszerűségét a rajta átvágó, a Julianus barát-kilátóhoz felvezető Országos Kéktúrának köszönheti.
S hogy ez a népszerűség nem újkeletű, arról idős bükkök szürke kérgébe karcolt feliratok, szimbólumok tömkelege tanúskodik. Igen, bükköké: a mély völgy mikroklímája lehetővé teszi, hogy már az alsó szakaszon is – körülbelül 220 m tengerszint feletti magasságban – kedvező életfeltételeket találjon ez a hidegkedvelő fafaj. Ugyanitt, az alsó szakaszon vágódik be leginkább a völgyben végighúzódó vízmosás – meredek szegélyén suvadások, földcsuszamlások nyomait látjuk lépten-nyomon.
A völgyben viszonylag idős, feltűnően természetes állapotú erdő él: a körülmények őserdeiek, a különböző életkorú fák miatt a rengeteg nehezen áthatolható, a lombkoronának több szintje is van.
Ahogy a turistautat követve emelkedünk, egyre több lesz a bükk és a gyertyán, majd a Templom-völgy kiszélesedik, ellaposodik, és a Szent Mihály-nyereg alatt véget ér.

- A Nagymaros-Visegrád vasútállomástól a K jelzésen jutunk el a Templom-völgybe (1,8 km, 177 m szintemelkedés).
Parking
- Nagymaroson a vasútállomás melletti P+R parkolóban hagyhatjuk az autót. Amennyiben a völgyhöz közelebb szeretnénk parkolni, a Diófa utca végén találunk alkalmas helyet hozzá.
