Nem ismert, hogy mi történt a famatuzsálemmel, utolsó törzsét állítólag a II. világháború idején egy vihar csavarta ki. Mindenesetre az biztos, hogy az 1930-as években még itt állt a különleges fa. Ekkoriban ugyanis a soproni Városszépítő Egyesület kezdeményezésére a sétautak mentén irodalmi táblákat helyeztek ki, amelyeken az adott hely által ihletett irodalmi mű – főleg vers – szerepelt. Egyetlen pályamű érkezett a Hétbükkfára, Mészáros Sándor, a Frankenburg Irodalmi Kör főtitkára tollából, így az ő verse került ide.
Ma már sajnos csak egy tábla és a padok emlékeztetnek a pihenőhely névadójára, de a Soproni Postás Természetjáró Szakosztály tagjai a 1970-es években ültettek 8 bükkcsemetét, amelyek közül hat életerős fa ma is megtalálható itt.
A sétautak csomópontja a Fáber-réttől kissé délre található, és a Ciklámen tanösvény egyik állomása.

- A buszmegállótól induljunk el délre a Récényi út felé, majd azon kissé túlmenve csatlakozzunk jobbra a Ciklámen tanösvény jelzésére. Ez elvezet a Hét-bükkfához (3,4 km).
- A Lővér Kalandparktól a S jelzésen és a Ciklámen tanösvényen jutunk el a Hét-bükkfáig (850 m).
