At the summit of the mountain named after Andreas Johann Muck – a forester known as the »Father of the Sopron Forest« – a lookout tower was built at the beginning of the 20th century. However, since it has long been overshadowed by the trees, it was left to decay and can now only be admired from the outside. Instead, five minutes below the summit is the »Waldhaus« (Erdő-haza), a nice small facility with enclosures of native animal species and a snack bar.
Opposite the bus stop in Kertváros, we go up Várhely utca alley, following a marking with yellow triangles, to a parking lot at the end of the street (starting point for drivers). To the right above, there is an information board for the Cyclamen Forest Nature Trail (Ciklámen tanösvény) and the lower end of the Sopron downhill track. We do not take the upper path marked with a yellow dot, but stay on the forest road in the valley. Where it turns left to a bridge over the creek, we continue straight and after a few meters sharply turn left following the yellow triangles uphill. Always following the well-marked path, we come to a junction where a path marked with a flower symbol joins from the right and continues uphill straight to an information board slightly right of the path about archaeological finds made here. 100 meters further, we reach a side path to the right leading to the summit of Várhely, which has a resting bench and unfortunately currently closed lookout tower due to
