Imremajor az egykori Balatonnagybereki Állami Gazdaság központja volt, kezdetben a vonatok is csak idáig közlekedtek Balatonfenyvesről (sőt, egyes adatok szerint már a két világháború között is vezetett ide egy 600 milliméteres sínpár).
Ma a kisvasút legfőbb feladata az itt élők számára a közösségi közlekedés biztosítása, és sokan használják is hivatásforgalomban (munkába, iskolába járáshoz) a kis szerelvényeket. A közelben ágazik ki a Csisztapusztára vezető szárnyvonal.
A helyiek által Majorka néven emlegetett településrész a Nagyberek kapuja, ahol a Hunyady Udvarból lehet Berek szafarira indulni, vagy csak ejtőzni egyet a 401-es romkocsmában.
