Pre peších turistov aj cyklistov je ideálnou voľbou v našom blízkom okolí Turistická magistrála Novohradu – novovybudovaná cezhraničná slovensko-maďarská cyklotrasa s celkovou dĺžkou 24,5 km, vybudovaná s podporou eurofondov v r. 2013-2014.
Nad obcou Lipovany sa čnie výhliadková veža do výšky 20 metrov z ktorej je prekrásny výhľad na okolitú prírodu. Pri dobrej viditeľnosti je možné vidieť aj Kráľovú Hoľu ako aj Vysoké Tatry.
Na slovensko-maďarskej hranici nad obcou Lipovany (cca 14 km od mesta Lučenec) sa nachádza rozhľadňa. Na vrchu Nagy-Hallgató, na okraji Lučenskej kotliny a Cerovej vrchoviny. Typické pre toto miesto sú aj tzv. lipovianske pieskovce, ktoré sú pozostatky vulkanickej aktivity a morskej fauny spred viac ako 20 milión rokov.
