Tajch sa nachádza na vrchu sedla medzi vrchom Paradajz a Veľkým Šobovom.

Červenostudňanský tajch je druhý najvyššie položený tajch v Štiavnických vrchoch. Pôvodným účelom tajchu bolo zadržiavať vodu pre prácu baníkov. V súčasnosti patrí k jedným z príjemných zastávok pri objavovaní okolia Banskej Štiavnice. Vo vodnej nádrži sa celoročne drží málo vody. V lete si tak môžete omočiť nohy a brodiť sa vo vode. V zime sa vodná plocha premení na klzisko a turisti vymenia turistické topánky za ľadové korčule.
