Máloktorý hrad je tak ľahko dostupný, ako práve zrúcanina Blatnického hradu. Stojí nevysoko a len kúsok od Blatnice - jednej z najkrajších turčianskych obcí. Vedie k nemu nenáročný náučný chodník. Hoci sa naň netreba šplhať vysoko, je z neho pútavý výhľad do diaľav. Hrad ponúka výhľad na Gaderskú dolinu, vrchol Pekárovej skaly či Tlstej.
Hrad bol postavený na ochranu cesty zvanej “Magna via”, kráľovskej poštovej cesty, ktorá prechádzala cez Turiec. V okolí hradu sú bohaté archeologické náleziská, medzi skvosty patrí najmä blatnický meč. Jeho repliku môžete nájsť v areáli hradu.
